Speed Rovers is a take on the classic pseudo-2D style retro racing games and mixed with the modern trend of unlimited running games. The game mechanics are very simple.
I won't keep you long.
This game is terrible. It's billed as being retro but it's just a very poorly designed bit of software. The game is everything you have seen before with moving left and right to avoid "stuff" and collect coins. These games have to do something a little different to keep you involved but this is just lazy. On a personal note, the sound when you collect coins is horrible, it makes me want to avoid them.
Usually this is the part where I would look into the game company, find out that it's just one guy and it's his first game but a quick search reveals nothing. Even their official website in the press release just has a clock that counts down to nothing. I'd waited a few days to give it an opportunity but nothing has happened.
The game supports in-app purchases but even those are secret, the pricing is not clear and there is no way I'm putting in my password to auto-purchase something which could cost anything!
I feel awkward when reading the games synopsis:
"...what's unique about this is the fact that you legs no longer hurt because you are no longer running on your feet. You enjoy the luxury of riding some high end bikes. What's more cool is the beautiful landscapes that you get to choose from a set of five different cities to play the game. Initially only once character and once city will be unlocked, but you can collect coins during the game play to unlock more cities/characters to make your gameplay more fun. Optionally you can unlock using In-App purchase if you are too impatient like me to try that awesome city."
Look, if you're still tempted, feel free to have a go as the game costs nothing but don't say I didn't warn you!
